When I came across this look worked by Shingai Shinowa I instantly felt the need to dissect it. It’s so simple, yet complicated. She looks effortless in structured pieces built together like a perfectly framed puzzle. Oh and this look is puzzling, in a good of course. The rundown: Tough lace booties, a navy blue high-waisted skirt, building up to a strong white collar peeking outside of a sequined sweater, completed with a midnight blue topper hat making for a fashionably chic birds nest of sorts. Each piece contradicts the next, creating a retro-futuristic vibe and it all somehow works. While the overall look is a ten with ease, it stands out due to one major statement piece: the collar.

Taking the look to dangerously new heights is Eleven Objects by Linh Thi Do, former product developer at Alexander Wang and TSE, and partner Christine Rhee of the eponymous line CRHEE. The collection of collars dressed up in animal prints, bejeweled and faux-furred out makes for a grand entrance. Pieces run from $135 up to $375.  For the girl that strives to look put together, but boldly unique this piece would be a fun addition to the wardrobe.
