In many ways Lauren Conrad is like the phoenix that rose from the ashes. She started on The Hills loved and adored by girls across America and then you couldn’t pick up an issue of People without seeing her face splashed through the pages. Plus, she put that classic “California Girl” style on the map. Then it ended. Still, there were successful book deals kept alive by her army of fans, but it hasn’t been enough to get her that coveted fashion mogul status she craved. Enter Paper Crown or Lauren’s second chance to get on top. She talked to Lucky Magazine about her vision for the holiday collection.

I kept fall very streamlined, and with the second season was able to introduce more novelty fabrications, trims and details,” Conrad told us. “We added a lot of texture and pretty details with velvets, laces, crinkle chiffon, petersham ribbons, custom gold buttons, etc.,–the lace pieces and rich floral print are really elegant and feminine, while the mini dresses and skirts are more flirty and youthful.

While she still has some ways to go, I must say I’m very impressed with the collection.
